The app stays on your Mac
Apollo Lock runs on the computer where you install it. The apps you pick, the sites you pick, and the block you start are saved on that Mac, under your user account, so the block can keep running. They are not sent to an Apollo Lock account. There is no account.
What is stored on the Mac
- the apps and sites you selected
- whether a block is on, whether it is locked, and when it ends
- a small helper so app blocking can continue while a block is active
- the site list written into the Mac hosts file between the Apollo markers, and removed when the block ends
The administrator password you type is entered into macOS. Apollo Lock does not store that password.
This website
This site does not ask you to sign up, does not run a shop account, and does not set its own analytics cookies. Downloading the app is a request for a file from the site host. The host may keep ordinary server logs, such as an address and the file that was requested, the way hosts usually do.
If a later version of the site adds payment, advertising measurement, or a mailing list, this page will say so before those tools are used.
Other people’s Macs
Install Apollo Lock on a Mac you administer. A website block changes a file the whole Mac uses. Do not use it to monitor or restrict someone else.
Children
The site is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. The terms for using the app are on Terms.
