Apollo for iPhone: Privacy
17 October 2026
Apollo (“Apollo: Block Reels & Shorts” on the App Store) is made by Abundance ideas LLC (“we”). This page explains what the app stores, what it sends, and what it never sees. The short version: your social media stays between you and those services, and almost everything Apollo knows stays on your iPhone.
What Apollo never sees
Apollo opens the websites of Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Threads, Facebook, Reddit and LinkedIn inside the app and hides parts of those pages, such as Reels, Shorts and endless feeds. When you log in to those services, you log in to them directly. Apollo does not read, store or send your passwords, messages, posts, photos, contacts or anything else you see or do on those sites. Their cookies and logins are kept on your iPhone, the same way a web browser keeps them. You can remove them any time in Settings → Sign out of all apps.
Those services still collect data under their own privacy policies when you use their websites, just as they would in Safari.
What stays on your iPhone
- which parts of each app you chose to hide
- how long you spent in each app inside Apollo, and how many feeds Apollo hid, used for Insights
- if you use Screen Time locking, the apps you picked, which Apple gives to Apollo only as private codes, not names
- whether you finished the welcome screens
This data is not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
Screen Time
Screen Time locking is optional. It uses Apple’s Family Controls framework with your permission. Apollo can only place a lock screen on the apps you pick. It cannot see your Screen Time reports, your usage of other apps, or the names of the apps you picked. The “Open in Apollo” notification is created on your iPhone; we don’t run a notification server.
Analytics
To improve Apollo, the app sends usage events to PostHog, our analytics provider, in the United States. These events include:
- which welcome screens you saw, so we can see where people stop
- your answers to the welcome questions, such as who Apollo is for, roughly how long you scroll, your age, what you tried before, where you found Apollo and your goals, including anything you type for “Other”
- when you see the subscription screen, buy a plan (which plan and its price) or redeem a code
- basic app and device information, such as the app version and iOS version
These events are tied to a random identifier created by the app, not to your name, email or Apple ID. The app tells PostHog not to work out your location from your IP address. We don’t use analytics for advertising, we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we don’t sell your data.
Purchases and codes
Subscriptions and Lifetime purchases in the app are handled by Apple. Your payment details go to Apple, not to us. The app checks with Apple whether you have an active purchase.
If you bought Apollo on apollolocked.com, you get a code. When you enter it, the app sends the code to apollolocked.com, which checks it against your purchase with our payment provider, Stripe, and replies whether it’s valid and until when. The code is then saved in your iPhone’s Keychain. How the website handles your purchase is described on the website privacy page.
How long we keep data
On-device data stays until you delete it or the app. We keep analytics only as long as they’re useful for improving Apollo. You can ask us to delete any data linked to your app’s identifier.
Your choices and rights
You can sign out of all apps, turn off Screen Time locking, or delete Apollo at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to how it’s used. Email us and we’ll help. We don’t sell or share personal data for targeted advertising.
Children
Apollo is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you think a child has used Apollo and you want their data removed, email us.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The terms for using the app are on the Terms page.
